Primary Function: Maintain order and discipline on the bus to maintain a safe and positive environment

Major Responsibilities:

1. Know and obey state and federal laws pertaining to school bus transportation.

2. Maintain proper care of the school bus, including bus cleanliness.

3. Maintain a level of student discipline on the bus that will allow the bus to be driven in a safe manner at all times.

4. Report all misbehavior to the Transportation Supervisor.

5. Assist students on an off the bus when necessary to provide for the safety of all students.

6. Attend all in-service meetings as required for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.

7. Provide emergency health care when called upon by the driver to ensure the safety of all students.

8. Observe and follow all school district policies at all times for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing the district’s regulations

9. Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information in order to remain in compliance with legal requirements and to maintain a professional work environment.

10. Cooperate with all drivers, mechanics, and administrators.

11. Report to and perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director.
